Ransomware is annoying software that encrypts a user’s files and requires money to decrypt them. It usually spreads across the Internet and networks so people don’t have to download it to get infected.
If your PC has had a ransomware attack (mine hasn’t) then you can follow advice below:
Visit https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode and boot into safe mode without networking (unless your PC is the only device you can view this guide on) and then once safe mode is booted, login like normal and go to Control Panel, then programs, find the dangerous program, right click and click Uninstall. It should let you uninstall it. Power off your PC then power it back on again and you should be ransomware-free!
I am glad my PC had not been infected but if I ever get infected, I should use this advice to free myself of malware.
