One lovely blog award – who are my favourite bloggers?

This challenge has spread across the internet like fire (I didn’t create this challenge) so I have decided to do one. Basically, I have to tell you 7 things about my character. And up to 15 bloggers I enjoy. I have over 40 followers, but as there are limits (a few don’t have blogs) and you can only do up to 15. I am sorry if I do not include you!

So, here are the 7 things about me!

1. I think about my web browser project, ECG SeaSurf , for a lot of my time. I love it because the world wide web is a big place, and making software that allows people to browse such a great thing makes me feel special.

2. I do not try to block the spotlight from other developers as I love seeing what others have produced too, and I love getting inspired.

3. I love playing video games because they are extremely fun, and it feels like I am in the game (no VR here!). They also take stress away.

4. I love writing stories, to entertain people. I am writing a story called Sir Wolf’s Castle, about Minecraft wolves and a villan called Sir Bum-Smacker.

5. I love looking at over blogs and leaving feedback and liking posts because I don’t want to look selfish.

6. I love ketchup. It is an awesome sauce.

7. There are lots of other things I love but don’t blog about: Star Wars and Legends of Chima, for example.

Now, here are my favourite bloggers: I DO NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR LINK CONTENT CHANGING

1. Codeinfig:

An author of a coding language called Fig, a coding enthusiast, and much more. Check out his blog at codeinfig.wordpress.com!

2. Jacque:

If you want to go beyond my app-making service (I would recommend trying it first and requesting a removal if you don’t like it), then Jacque is the person for you. He can even get your app published to the Play Store (I didn’t ask for an app because I can make one myself).

Check out his blog at themarvelousmind.com

3.  ARJ

If you want a guide to coding and you want to be a pro, then ARJ’s blog “A bit of everything – copy” is the place for you. He has another blog, pythongr.wordpress.com, which is worth checking out too.

Find his main blog at abdurrahmaanjanhangeer.wordpress.com

4. Daniel He hetianding

A Minecraft enthusiast, this blogger creates maps and then publishes them.

Find his blog at worldofmanyworlds.wordpress.com.

Check out his blog at sinhaha.com

9. Old and New Reviews

Reviewing and playing video games, I enjoy reading this blog.

Follow the blog at oldandnewreviews.com!

10. Is there any blog you recommend?

I can’t think of a tenth, but I want to reach 10, so if you recommend a blog, plz leave  a comment.

PS: The rules (I have forgotten the URL to the original creator’s blog) also mention that you should post about being chosen. So, thank you codeinfig for choosing me! SO, remember that!

How to fix “This computer will no longer receive Chrome updates because Windows XP and Windows Vista are no longer supported”

If you are trying to launch Chrome on XP or Vista, you will get this message. Here are some ways to fix it.

I am not using Windows XP or Vista.

Chrome is displaying this message because Chrome has been set to run in Windows’ compatibility mode. Disable compatibility mode by right clicking on Chrome and pressing properties. Click Compatibility and disable compatibility mode and press Apply, then OK.

I am using Windows XP or Vista, but I don’t want to see the message.

Upgrade your OS. Google no longer support Chrome on XP and Vista so upgrading will keep you secure. Microsoft no longer support XP and Vista support ending is near us too.

Or if you want to stick with your current Operating System, right click on Chrome, press Properties, and add –disable-infobars to the command line. Press Apply, then OK and launch Chrome. Hurray! Chrome should not display the message but you still won’t receive updates.

Cheers!

Google Chrome for Windows XP and Vista end of support

Jack, who was featured in my last story, Internet Explorer 9 End of support and his Dad also have a desktop PC with Windows XP. Trouble occurs when Jack’s Dad can’t update Google Chrome on this PC. Read on to find out what happens.

Jack’s dad was on the computer. Jack was playing in his bedroom.  Jack comes downstairs and asks his dad what he is doing.

“Dad, whatcha doing?”

“I just found out that you can no longer update Chrome on Windows XP and Vista, Jack.”

“What will you do now, Dad?”

“Update to 7”

“OK. Good luck with that.”

5 MINUTES LATER

“How is is, Dad”

“My PC is incompatible with Windows 7 so I can’t download it”

“Oh no. I am going to be in trouble with your mother,  Jack!”

“Why?”

“Because your mother wants all software on all hardware to be updated, Son!”

“We have only one hour before she comes back from town!”

“We must hurry!”

So, Jack inserted a Windows 7 disk into the PC. Maybe it was compatible.

Jack installed Windows 7 and the PC was incompatible.

“Go to your room, Jack! You have broken the computer”

Jack’s Dad inserted a Windows Vista disk into the PC and installed Windows Vista, deleted Google Chrome and downloaded Firefox.

Jack’s Mum came in.

Hope you liked my story!

Google Chrome for mobile vs. Google Chrome/Chromium for desktop

Google Chrome is available for mobile devices. But there are a few limitations. Is Chrome for mobile a decent replacement for Chrome/Chromium for desktop?

It depends. Chrome for Mobile does not have web store support, you can’t set your homepage to the one you like and there are a few other limitations. If you attach your Android device up to a larger display, you get a desktop-like experience. However, still no web store.

Chrome for desktop has web store support and Flash 23 support. Chromium for desktop (including Raspberry Pi) has PepperFlash 21 support.

Chrome for mobile does not have Flash or PepperFlash support.

Chrome for mobile can still be a good browser. If you don’t need all these features then Chrome for Mobile is the browser for you. Sadly, if you do need these features, you can’t install Chrome/Chromium for desktop on Android, nor can you install Chrome for mobile on a desktop.

Hope you now know which is better for you:Chrome for mobile or Chrome for desktop!

Chromium 54?

On an older post I commented to tell you I expected a Chromium 54 in Ubuntu Repositories in the next few weeks. Those few weeks have gone so fast! I checked the Ubuntu Repository and I couldn’t find a 54. Time is running out! Soon Google will release a Chrome 55 and Chromium won’t even be at 54 yet! I hope a latest Chromium comes out soon!

Using Chrome on Windows XP or Vista? Well, you are in danger!

Chrome was released in 2008 for Windows, and Linux and Mac OS X versions were released later on. CHROME IS OLDER THAN MINECRAFT.

Microsoft ended support for Windows XP on 8th April 2014, and Windows Vista support will end on 11th April 2017. Microsoft were enthusiastic when Windows XP was released, but enthusiasm comes… and fades.

Google have ended support for Chrome on Windows XP and Vista. If you are using one of these OSes, then you will need to update to at least Windows 7 to continue to use Chrome. If you don’t want to upgrade, then switch to Firefox for now.

Cheers!

THIS WILL ONLY WORK ON A PI 2 OR PI 3!

TESTED WITH RASPBIAN JESSIE OCTOBER 2016 RELEASE. MAY WORK ON OLDER VERSIONS BUT NOT GUARANTEED TO WORK. IF YOU ARE USING AN OLDER VERSION OF RASPBIAN AND HAVE ISSUES WITH THIS PLZ COMMENT TO TELL ME YOUR ISSUE. I WILL TRY TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX IT AND REPLY BACK TO YOUR COMMENT.
