How to fix “This computer will no longer receive Chrome updates because Windows XP and Windows Vista are no longer supported”

If you are trying to launch Chrome on XP or Vista, you will get this message. Here are some ways to fix it.

I am not using Windows XP or Vista.

Chrome is displaying this message because Chrome has been set to run in Windows’ compatibility mode. Disable compatibility mode by right clicking on Chrome and pressing properties. Click Compatibility and disable compatibility mode and press Apply, then OK.

I am using Windows XP or Vista, but I don’t want to see the message.

Upgrade your OS. Google no longer support Chrome on XP and Vista so upgrading will keep you secure. Microsoft no longer support XP and Vista support ending is near us too.

Or if you want to stick with your current Operating System, right click on Chrome, press Properties, and add –disable-infobars to the command line. Press Apply, then OK and launch Chrome. Hurray! Chrome should not display the message but you still won’t receive updates.

Cheers!
